Opportunity to enter the stadium for free to watch the first Bangladesh vs. West Indies Test match
The West Indies cricket team has arrived in Bangladesh for a two-match Test series. Ahead of the series, the Caribbean side is currently playing a warm-up match against a BCB XI. In the meantime, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that spectators will be granted free entry to the stands for the first Test of the series.
The first Test—part of the World Test Championship—is set to begin on October 28 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The five-day match will conclude on November 1. The second Test of the series will commence on November 5 in Sylhet.
Which stands at the Mirpur stadium will be open for free viewing?
According to the BCB’s decision, spectators can watch the match for free from the North and South stands of the Mirpur stadium throughout all five days of the first Test—from October 28 to November 1.
However, this offer does not apply to all seating areas. Access to the Grand Stand, Shaheed Jewel Stand, Shaheed Mushtaque Stand, and other VIP or hospitality areas remains excluded from this free-entry initiative.
The BCB has introduced this measure to encourage spectators to attend the first Test. It remains to be seen how many fans will turn up at the Mirpur stadium to watch Bangladesh take on the West Indies.
