Pakistan secured the T20I series against Sri Lanka with a match to spare after a dominant 46-run victory in the second game at Rawalpindi.

After laying the foundation for victory with aggressive batting in the opening T20I, Mazz Sadiqat and captain Sahibzada Farhan produced another explosive performance in the second match.

Sadiqat narrowly missed out on a century, finishing on 96, while Farhan smashed 73 to help Pakistan post a commanding total.

Sadiqat Falls Four Runs Short of a Century

Sadiqat was at the heart of Pakistan’s aggressive batting display. His innings featured six fours and seven sixes as he repeatedly attacked the Sri Lankan bowlers.

The left-hander eventually finished on 96, falling just four runs short of a well-deserved century. His powerful knock provided the platform for Pakistan to build a big total.

Captain Farhan was equally impressive. He brought up his half-century from just 31 balls before finishing with a quickfire 73.

The pair’s attacking partnership put Pakistan firmly in control and gave Sri Lanka a difficult target to chase.

Sri Lanka Restricted to 133

Sri Lanka struggled to keep pace during the chase and lost wickets at regular intervals.

Maheesh Theekshana top-scored with 32, while Chamindu Wickramasinghe contributed 29. However, their efforts were not enough to keep Sri Lanka in the contest.

Sri Lanka eventually finished on 133 for 7, handing Pakistan a convincing 46-run victory.

The result also confirmed Pakistan’s series victory with one match still remaining.

Final T20I on October 13

The third and final T20I will also be played in Rawalpindi on October 13.

With the series already secured, Pakistan will look to complete a clean sweep, while Sri Lanka will aim to finish the series with a consolation victory.
