Michael Olise Scores Late as France Beat Belgium in Nations League

Michael Olise produced a stunning late winner as France defeated Belgium 1-0 to make it two wins from two in the Nations League.

With the match heading toward a goalless draw, Olise struck in the 88th minute with a superb individual effort. The French winger collected the ball near his own penalty area before launching a trademark run forward.

Olise powered past a Belgian defender, carried the ball into the centre of the box and then found a way through a crowd of three opponents before firing past the goalkeeper.

The goal sparked wild celebrations from the French players and head coach Zinedine Zidane, who had been facing the prospect of dropping points after a largely even contest.

France had made nine changes to their starting XI, with Andy Diouf, Jérémy Jacquet and Luca Da Cunha making their international debuts. The reshuffled side struggled to find a breakthrough, prompting Zidane to introduce Ousmane Dembele, Rayan Cherki and Olise late in the game.

The substitutions ultimately made the difference, with Olise rewarding his manager with a decisive goal just two minutes before the end of normal time.

The result leaves France top of Nations League Group A with six points from two matches. Belgium and Italy have three points each, while Turkey remain bottom after suffering two consecutive defeats.

For France, Olise's late strike delivered another important victory and maintained their perfect start to the competition.
