Luis Diaz produced a stunning hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrashed RB Leipzig 6-1 at home on Saturday to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga.

Goals from Aleksandar Pavlovic, Michael Olise and Harry Kane added to Diaz's treble as the German champions delivered a commanding performance. Bayern took control early, scoring three times in the first half.

Bayern Take Control Before Half-Time

Diaz opened the scoring in the 12th minute, giving Bayern an early lead. Pavlovic and Olise then found the net to put the hosts firmly in control before the break.

The Colombian winger needed only 95 seconds after the restart to score his second goal of the match. Harry Kane extended Bayern's advantage in the 52nd minute, scoring his 102nd Bundesliga goal in his 100th appearance in the German top flight.

Diaz completed his hat-trick in the 69th minute, capping an outstanding individual display. Leipzig managed a consolation goal in stoppage time, but Bayern comfortably secured a 6-1 victory.

Bayern Return to Winning Ways

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany had said before the match that his team was close to reaching its best form. The emphatic win over Leipzig offered a convincing response after two consecutive draws across competitions.

Bayern had drawn 2-2 against Augsburg in their previous Bundesliga match before playing out a 3-3 draw against Norwegian club Viking in the Champions League.

The victory lifted Bayern to the top of the Bundesliga table with 14 points from six matches, having recorded four wins and two draws. Borussia Dortmund also have 14 points and sit second, while Leipzig remain seventh with nine points.
